Families can walk through a fairy tale at Black Creek Pioneer Village on Saturdays in June.
The village on the border of York Region, just south of Steeles Avenue, is being transformed into a magical land with a royalty, pirates, fairies and carnival games at the Once Upon A Time event.
Visitors will be able to explore a castle, take part in a pirate adventure, learn about dreams, and enjoy live storytelling, including a puppet show. There will also be an exhibit comparing tales that are told around the world.
The event continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 18 and 25.
Tickets for the event are required and can be purchased online. They cost $19 plus tax for children aged three to 14 and $23 plus tax for adults. Conservation Parks members receive a discount but are still required to purchase tickets to attend this special event.
Black Creek Pioneer Village is part of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. The 1860s-inspired space has been authentically re-created to show what life was like in that time.
There are 40 historic buildings, animals, 10 gardens, 50,000 artifacts, and costumed educators who interact with guests and teach them about that historic time.
