If you are struggling with managing employees who work remotely, author David Town may have some answers for you.
Trinity Anglican Church in Aurora is hosting an interactive presentation March 27 with the author of Don’t Mistake Presence for Performance. Discover How Effective Leaders Manage Hybrid and Remote Work Environments.
"The book explores eye-opening research and insights that help leaders increase their effectiveness by changing their approach and applying the appropriate mindset shift and leadership skills," according to a news release.
"By fully embracing the concepts and practices outlined in the book, they will maximize their leadership effectiveness and avoid falling into the trap of settling for less-than-optimum results."
In an era where the dynamics of the workplace are continually evolving, the traditional highly directive styles of leadership are increasingly being challenged, the author believes.
"Leaders today are recognizing the importance of fostering environments that promote openness, collaboration, connection, respect and heart (love)," Town says. "This paradigm shift represents a significant departure from authoritative leadership models to more inclusive and empowering approaches."
Town will share insights on his book for anyone who wants to consider strategies for influencing the behaviour of others, whether it is in a company environment, a volunteer role, or in personal relationships. He will share his thoughts on how to enhance collaboration, build stronger relationships, foster connection and show respect for different points of view.
The session is on Thursday, March 27 at Trinity Anglican Church, Aurora, Binions Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Host Doug Leitch will take key topics from the book and ask Town to share thoughts that can help grow personal skillsets. There will be lots of opportunities for questions from the audience. Copies of the book – signed by the author – will be available for sale.
