The Aurora Cultural Centre is marking its 15th anniversary with a Beatles tribute performance.
John Sheard, who has performed several times in Aurora in the past, will be playing piano, joined by former collaborators Mia Sheard, David Celia, Steve Briggs, Denis Pendrith, Greg Wyard and Ryan Granville-Martin.
Toronto-based Sheard has worked with numerous iconic musical figures, including Olivia Newton-John and Celine Dion.
The performance will include a variety of songs picked from The Beatles’ catalogue.
Opening the show will be Stouffville-based gospel singer Quisha Wint and local piano master Paul Neufeld, both of whom have performed in Aurora before.
The pair were one of the first acts to perform at the Aurora Cultural Centre, back in Oct. 17, 2010, when Neufeld performed a four-show series Paul Neufeld’s Sunday Sessions – A World of Musical Friends alongside Quisha Wint.
The 15th-anniversary celebration will also include a silent auction, comprising works from artists and artist-educators that have been featured during the Aurora Cultural Centre’s decade-and-a-half of operations. Cake will also be served.
The performance is set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 25 in the newly named Davide De Simone Performance Hall at Aurora Town Square at 50 Victoria St.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50, and set to go on sale soon. More information can be found online.
