Dear Doug Ford,

Thank you for spending $3 billion to give each Ontarian $200, which will barely cover groceries for a few weeks. In the meantime, the ramifications of your cuts to education and health care continue their negative effect on all of us, from children to seniors.

I am having difficulty deciding where to donate your "gift" — the Aurora Food Pantry, mental health services such as LOFT, Yellow Brick House for abused women, the Margaret Bahen Hospice, Inn from the Cold, or Welcoming Arms, all crucial services right here in the Aurora/Newmarket area.

The need is great and the common good suffers when $3 billion becomes a gimmick.
