Master Song began his journey in Taekwondo at the age of 5, continuing as a dedicated athlete throughout elementary, middle, high school, and university. He served in the Marine Corps as a Taekwondo instructor and mortarman, where he further honed his skills and discipline.
Taekwondo is not just about punches and kicks; it imparts essential life lessons.
Respect: To be respected, one must first show respect to others. Taekwondo starts and ends with etiquette. Through Taekwondo, I learned the importance of respecting others.
Perseverance: Life is full of challenges, but the perseverance I developed through Taekwondo training helped me overcome every obstacle. Persistence and consistency are key.
Discipline: Setting goals and working tirelessly to achieve them, even in the face of challenges or setbacks, is a core tenet of the Taekwondo philosophy. Students are encouraged to push their physical and mental limits, developing the resilience needed to overcome obstacles.
After 29 years of practicing Taekwondo, I am eager to share these valuable lessons with my students.
