Market Brewing Company is proud to announce the production and delivery of their first batch of hand sanitizer to Southlake Regional Health Centre in their
hometown of Newmarket. They would like to thank all front line health-care workers for their service during this difficult time – which is why Market Brewing is donating the first 1,000 bottles of Bare Hands Sanitizer to the local hospital.
The brewery faced a significant challenge once COVID-19 hit. The closure of their taproom to help flatten the curve created a sudden disruption in community events and sales. The company quickly responded with an online beer delivery portal, to allow the continued supply of fresh beer to their customers – straight from the brewery to the doorstep.
Since the launch of this service, community support has grown quickly and has surpassed 650 orders.
Market Brewing took a further step to answer the Canadian government’s call for the production of personal protective equipment. This meant changing their production layout, and adding new equipment to produce and package hand sanitizer, as outlined by the World Health Organization.
Thanks to the Regional Municipality of York, Market Brewing was able to procure bottles, and with the speed and help from the government of Canada in ensuring they were granted the correct licences, the company has been able to quickly ramp up production of this in-demand item.
