Newmarket, Aurora candidates invited to answer voter questions at library event

Aurora Public Library has invited all provincial election candidates in Newmarket and Aurora to answer questions and discuss their ideas Feb. 19.

The Aurora Public Library is hosting an all-candidates event with candidates from both the Newmarket-Aurora and Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill ridings. The event will take place at the ATS Performance Hall.

“Come listen to participating local candidates answer a selection of community questions,” the Aurora Public Library said in an event listing.

It is the second candidate event between the two communities. The first, focused on Newmarket-Aurora candidates hosted by Climate Action Newmarket-Aurora, only had Liberal Chris Ballard and NDP Denis Heng attend.

For this Aurora event, the library said questions were collected in advance and will be read by a moderator on the day of.

The free event at 15145 Yonge St. runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. No registration is required. 

The provincial election is Feb. 27. You can find voting information through Elections Ontario
